About KCA University

Founded in 1989 by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) as Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA), KCA arose to address a need highlighted by a 1987–1988 study conducted by the UK’s CIPFA, indicating that Kenya required an additional 400 certified accountants annually. Starting with just 170 students, KCA’s enrollment has since grown to over 12,000, and it now hosts campuses in Kitengela, Kisumu, and Amagoro to provide national accessibility.

In 2007, KCA received a Letter of Temporary Authority from the Commission for Higher Education to become a university, culminating in a full charter in 2013. Today, KCA continues to excel in the education sector, even receiving recognition as the top private institution for employability in the British Council Report 2016.

Is KCA University Private or Public?

KCA is a private, non-profit institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. With a focus on high-quality, accessible education, KCA operates independently but maintains the same rigor and recognition as other accredited institutions in Kenya.
